EDITOR’S Drivel
What’s happened this month? Not a lot really the bike is in the garage all nice and warm and we are in the house freezing, we can’t afford to eat both places as it gets expensive and I wouldn’t want my tyres to perish!!
Where has this last 12 months gone? I can’t believe this is the 12th issue I have done (well I can I’m running out of ideas and Cocoa!!!)
The team here at publications house, myself, Oil Marks (who’s gone to Grease) and Mr Techasaki Adnoh (who’s gone brack to Toekeyho-ho-ho) would like to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year (there’s a joke there somewhere!!!).
THIS MONTH’S FRONT COVER .
You associate snow with Christmas and nowadays lots of lights so what better bike to have on the front cover this month. Mike’s whiteGL1500 with lots of lights. The photo was taken at our Wing Ding on the Saturday night before the entertainment.

EVENTS
Last month’s auction raised £196.75, this has been made up to £200 and Pat will send the cheque to NABD
Last week’s Christmas Do at the Hotel Bristol Newquay was a good one, lovely meal and hopefully everyone had a good time. There was a discussion as to whether we go back in 2009 or try somewhere different. Elaine agreed to find out about the Falmouth Beach Hotel and report back for a decision at a later meeting.
People are ringing Les to see if we are having a Wing Ding in 2009, this includes interested wingers and also Pete Hannay the owner of Tregoad Park as another group is wanting the dates we had last time.
Reiterated that we have already agreed not to have a Wing Ding in 2009. After some discussion it was decided to also use the expression ‘camping weekend’ rather than ‘dropout’ so that it is clear if we do anything it will be a very low key get together with no advertizing. We should promote the Treffen 2010 if anyone asks.
EVENTS FOR 2009
Bill handed out a proposed list of events for 2009 - dates are very much in line with 2008 to ‘fit everything in’ but are obviously subject to confirmation nearer the dates. We are keen to do both after meeting runs (starting with the Cycling Museum in February as it is very close to Delabole) as well as mid month ride outs, more suggestions are always welcome. 26th April and 3rd May will both be looking for campsites to use later in the year. See Calender page.
DROPOUT 2009
Dropout 2009 - everyone was urged to be on the lookout for a site, dates to be decided when we have the Wing Ding and events calendars.

PAT & TERRY'S NABD AUCTION
After lunch we had a most enjoyable Charity Auction which raised £195.50 for NABD. Pat and Val acted as Auctioneers and also modelled and demonstrated items where necessary. Some lots needed ‘creative techniques’ to make people part with their money. Interestingly the items which had anything to do with Wings proved to be the least popular while anything covered in chocolate made twice the original cost and were instantly opened and consumed by all! Telephone bids proved unsuccessful but Landlady Tracy walked off with the biggest box of Milk Tray going.
The whole thing raised much laughter as well as much needed funds for a good cause. It was definitely a good way to spend a miserable Sunday afternoon as no-one would have wanted to go for a ride anyway.
