Members present 19.
Matters Arising:
It was decided that the ordinary meeting be held first, followed by the AGM.
Minutes from last meeting were circulated and agreed.Xmas Dinner Feedback
Further to Andrew contacting the Hotel Bristol about the meal not being up to scratch, he has received a reply asking for further details. Andrew will e-mail again giving specifics.
All agreed that the weekend package as a whole is good value.
Birthday Ride
Andrew has received an e-mail from a retired police officer asking if it would be possible to arrange a 70th. birthday treat for his mother in law on Feburary 3rd.
She apparently wants an ‘extended’ ride on a GL1500. He is willing to pay D & C Wings or make a donation to charity. Feb. 3rd. is a Friday; it was felt that weather would not be very kind at that time, and maybe it would be better to arrange a day later in the year.
OTHER MATTERS
Anyone wanting discounted accommodation for The Scarborough Light Parade should book it before the end of January.
Classic Bike Show at Shepton Mallet 18th & 19th. Feb. Bill suggested that if we went as a group, perhaps we could look at hiring a mini-bus.
Brian will send a card from the club to Alan Scoines to wish him a speedy recovery from his operation. Jennie spoke to Janet last week, and she said he is doing very well.
Bill presented the calendar for this year. He will put all the details on the website.
Any suggestions for the calendar, please contact Bill.
Avon and Hampshire have Wingdings this year if anyone is interested.
Tracey requested that we start the 18th. March meeting at 11am as it is Mothers’ Day and she would like to take bookings for lunch at 1pm. Agreed by all.
No other matters arising, the meeting was closed.
There is no Quartermaster position this year. Club regalia can be ordered direct from Ravenspring. (There is a link in the For Sale page) They are nice people and will do all to help. Ask for Anne or Roger.
Pete Siddals has a number of Pennants for sale.

NOW AT 11.00 am
Devon & Cornwall Wings AGM 15th. January 2012
1.Proposal that Andrew chair the meeting. All agreed.
2.
Minutes from 2011 AGM read and agreed.
3Chairman’s Report: Andrew said our membership remains fairly constant and expressed thanks to everyone who attend the various events during the year
4.Treasurers Report: Pete had made a spreadsheet to show the various transactions for last year, but unfortunately it had been deleted from the computer, so he was only able to give the balance of account, which stands at £1069.17, most of which came from the Wingding raffle. We were not subsidised by the main club, and did better than other regions. It was decided that the only expense at the moment was the website.
Moneys taken forward this year: £369.17
Donations to Charities: £700.00
5.Events Secretary’s Report: After a packed year in 2011, Bill expressed thanks to all who helped with events, with especial mention of Barney and Linda for the Cream Tea Run, and Barney’s organisation of the Treffen ride out.
It would be interesting to have a total of our region’s ‘fun miles’; something to think about. Another busy year ahead, with ride-outs, Cream Tea Run, Sidmouth, visit to Morwellham Quay, various shows and a possible camping weekend amongst other events. Additional events can still be added to the calendar. Keep an eye on the website.
Further to holding a camping weekend. Andrew will ask Mary to find out about prices and availability for Shepherds Patch site at Slimbridge. Dates suggested are 7/8/9th. Sept. 2012.
Andrew thanked Bill and commended him for his work on the calendar.
6.Webmaster’s Report: Brian enquired as to whether we want to continue with the website.
All agreed that it should continue, so he will re-vamp it, but needs information to put on it, so please send him feedback from ride-outs, days out and holidays etc. He will also be sent the minutes from monthly meetings. Pete R. made the point that if information is not provided, it is difficult to make the website popular.
Thanks given to Brian for his continued good work.
7.Election of Rep: Andrew was proposed by Helen and seconded by Sonia.
Passed by majority vote.
Les has offered his services as ‘Associate Rep’ and he will continue to help Andrew as required. Thank you Les.
8.Election of Treasurer: Bill proposed Pete Siddalls, Brian seconded.
Pete elected as Treasurer.
9.Wingspan Correspondent: Chris Easter does not want to take it on again. Wendy said she would be willing to do it. Jennie proposed Wendy,
Pete Seldon seconded.Wendy elected as Wingspan correspondent.
10.Election of Webmaster: Pete Siddalls proposed Brian, Jennie seconded.
Brian elected as Webmaster.

Ellie’s Haven,
Royal British Legion, Riders Branch ( main club charity )
Cornwall Freewheelers & Devon (bloodbikes)
Devon & Cornwall Air Ambulance
N.A.B.D
It was decided to donate £100 each to each charity. Proposed by Bill, seconded by Wendy.
This leaves a balance of £369. 17 which will hopefully be added to through the year.
Graham suggested inviting representatives from the charities concerned to come along to a presentation at our meeting. This was thought a good idea, and Andrew will write to them when the cheques are sent off.
12.Venue for Meetings: Pete Siddalls proposed The Poldark. Pete Seldon seconded.
All in favour of continuing to meet there.
Pete Rakestrow proposed that the meeting time should be kept to 11am throughout the year.
Bill proposed and Barney seconded. Passed by majority vote.
Andrew will tell Tracey .
13.Wingding 2013: Everyone was in favour. This will be discussed at a later date.
Dates agreed were 6/7/8th. September 2013. Andrew will put the wheels in motion at the GWOCGB AGM.
14.Other Business: Di and Alan are both doing well after their operations. Mary will have hers in March. Best wishes to you all.
Bill asked whether Smokey Joes is still to be part of the club’s calendar, as it is not a set date and therefore cannot be entered on the calendar.
Dave said he went recently and got the impression it is still wanted as a regular club event. Bill will ring Reg & Evie to find out more.
15.Winger of the Year: Won by Barney. A very popular winner! Well done Barney.
